Since 1999, A.R. Cail Excavation has been proudly serving the Greater Portland area and the Lakes Region with reliable, professional excavation services. What started as a small landscaping and property maintenance business has grown into a respected, family-run excavation company with deep roots in Southern Maine’s construction industry.

The business was founded by Andrew Cail, whose passion for site work and construction began in high school, when he spent his spare time mowing lawns, maintaining properties, and clearing driveways. Those early experiences laid the groundwork for what would become a full-time commitment to excavation and site development.

A.R. Cail Excavation is backed by a legacy that spans three generations. Andrew’s great-grandfather was a skilled General Contractor who built homes in the Portland area, establishing a strong foundation in craftsmanship and construction. That tradition continued through Andrew’s father, who launched his own General Contracting company in 1969, offering a wide range of services that would eventually inspire Andrew to carry the family legacy forward in his own way.

Today, Andrew leads A.R. Cail Excavation with the same dedication, work ethic, and attention to detail passed down through generations. With over two decades in business, the company continues to provide dependable excavation services for residential and commercial clients alike—specializing in site prep for new homes, driveways, septic system design and septic system installation, water lines, lot clearing, and road building.
